Engineered garments took its brand name from a pattern maker hired to draft the first round of patterns. she claimed that the clothes were not designed but engineered due to the vast amount of detailing involved in each garment

How absolutely true. I've seen a few pieces and from the outside, it's just a plain staple item with a few added details, but turn it inside out and you can see reinforced angled stitching on each shirt's pocket, a fucking back pouch, and a lot more. All made in New York. I wish I am stinking rich so I can catch the next plane there and buy the entire collection. Yes, including the flower-print shorts.

Jeff Staple said it best,"Fashion-wise, I love Engineered Garments ... Nobody needs to know my jacket retails for $600 except me."

Found this via Jeff Staple's blog. Good God. Blows me away. I should be studying right now, but I'm listening to their album on full volume. Perfect sound. The chick played drums while she sings. The guy got an insane 78RPM record collection and Fonz hairstyle which is fucking awesome, and the oldest chick bent the notes on a harmonica solo. Hello, it's been a while. Here's some pictures

This is my dog, Cobain. I got him when I was in Junior high, so probably 7-8 years ago. I never let him be anywhere near a guitar as he has this tendency to smash and rip open a bass drum with it. Oh, and he's gay.

I can't remember where or when this pic was taken.

There's this couple doing a pre-wedding photo shoot on a beach. I took this photo and they hit me on the head with one of the candles. Heh.

This is a black parrot. Which reminds me, why do pirates have those red and white parrots? The black ones are way more awesome.

And then I got shipwrecked. We didn't have a volleyball so we use this pretty big coral. We named her Lindsay.

That's Flinders station, Federation Square (My friend told me that the triangular patterns on the walls aren't randomly put together, the architect actually drew every shapes in the plans), the old church that's always being renovated and some random ass buildings.

On top of the pic is St. Kilda beach, which,of course, is not visible because it's night and sand don't glow in the dark. The right building is Crown casino and the one on the left is some apartment that's blocking my view of the flyover. Hey apartment, if you don't have a grocery store on the ground level you'll probably be demolished by now.

Hold on, the neck itself is pretty wide too, I thought it was a 12-snare at first! 3 single pickups, nothing special, but what bridge is that? I never seen one like that before. It's definitely a tremolo, non-locking, so Floyd Rose is out of the equation, and not synchronized either, could be Bigsby, but what's the two button-looking thingies on the sides? Looks like a cross between Fender Jaguar and vintage Grestch on acid, haha.

The Story of Carlo Giuliani

I come across this link that has pictures of Carlo Giuliani's shooting in chronological order and I just have to put it up here. I remember hearing the story from my cousin, but this is the first time that I actually saw the pics and how it happened. Oh, and don't read on if you're eating.

Carlo Giuliani was shot at point blank range and then driven over by a Carabinieri's (Italy's military police) jeep in a protest against the 2001 G8 Summit that was held in Genoa. During the protest, one of the Carabinieri's jeep was stuck and got attacked by the protesters, for some reason, the Carabinieri threw out a fire extinguisher from the back window.

Then, they pointed a gun at the protester in black helmet.

Realizing the situation, the guy ran away, while Carlo (in white undershirt) picked up the fire extinguisher.

He was having a hard time picking up the fire extinguisher, but even though he can barely lift it, the fucking Carabinieri thought that he was going to threw the extinguisher into the car. They shot him. This pic is the taken a few seconds before he was shot in the face.

Right above his left eye.

Just the fact that he was shot disgusts me, but the fucking pigs did something even worse, they reverse the car and drove over him while he's bleeding to death.

The cop inside the car is covering his face with his hand, he knew exactly what they were doing. But unfortunately it doesn't stop there, they drove the car forward, thus driving over him for the second time.

And guess what? They didn't care. They kept on going

Some of them nearly stepped on his body

When help finally came, he already lost a litre of blood. The paramedics couldn't save him from the injury caused by the gunshot and his internal organs crushed by a car.

He was pronounced death at the scene

All the charges against the cop that shot him was dropped because it was concluded that he didn't aimed the gun at Giuliani, the bullet simply deflected towards him by a stone in mid-air. How fucking ridiculous it that?

The preliminary reports on the album were a bit dubious. In one interview, RZA talked about how Raekwon had made fun of him and Method Man for making "some Black Eyed Peas shit," and most of the stories anticipating the album mentioned one song where the Red Hot Chili Peppers' John Frusciante and George Harrison's son Dhani would play guitar on a cover of the Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." I don't know if I heard that Black Eyed Peas-esque song today (probably not), but I did hear most of the song with Frusciante and Harrison; the tracklist I got called it "My People Gently Weep," but in his taped intro, RZA himself either called it "The Needle Gently Weeps" or "The Beatle Gently Weeps." Or maybe he actually was saying "the people"; RZA can be tough to understand. Whatever, doesn't matter. The song is amazing, mostly because it sounds like a Wu-Tang song rather than like a classic-rock crossover-attempt. The guitars are there, but they're drowned in the murky, off-key mix, buried under a Fender Rhodes that itself sounds like it's underwater.

The funny thing is, Rone found the picture from a fashion magazine 4 years ago and the girl in the poster, whose marriage is falling apart, doesn't know how to contact the artist until her son, in New York, found a stencil graffiti book with the posters in it. Suzanne Brenchley was on Punt Road when she saw her past flash by.

ONE ordinary day, I saw my ghost in a dark tunnel. It was an autumn afternoon, three years ago. I was a passenger in my sister's car travelling down Punt Road. As we entered the Richmond tunnel the traffic lights changed, we stopped and waited, and then my sister exclaimed, "Look! That's you, Suzanne!"

I turned towards the tunnel wall and saw an image of a young girl's face printed on an enormous poster. At first glance it meant nothing but the second time I saw myself when I was a twenty-something. The traffic lights changed and we were on our way. I looked back, I looked at my sister, and then I squealed with disbelief. We laughed all the way home. The hilarity continued as I sifted through a box of old modelling photos, taken in the early '70s, until I found the right one. I was indeed the young girl on the poster under the Richmond Bridge.

The next day I stood under the bridge and studied the three-metre poster. It was the work of a graffiti artist who had enhanced the original photo by white-washing the face, accentuating the dark eyes and hair. There was another additional touch that gave the impression that the girl was sad; black tears streamed down the colourless face. The vision reflected another time in my life and yet it also illustrated what I was feeling at that moment. And I wondered, was it possible that this artist knew that lately I had been crying a lot? My 30-year marriage was beginning to fall apart.

Soon more posters of the same image were seen in city lanes and on bridges by the Yarra. I was mystified. But my sister, who wanted me to be happy, said, "It's a sign! A new beginning."

Not knowing who the artist was and why my photo was chosen meant that my friends and I could play detective. Our imaginations went wild as we thought of elaborate plots, usually with romantic themes. One friend suggested that someone from my past wanted to contact me. He'd forgotten my name and arranged for my photo (the only one he had) to be displayed in busy city locations where I was sure to see it! Although I was encouraged to find the artist I was content to have fun with the mystery. Perhaps the real story would not be as exciting.

Eventually, the poster story was only told on rare occasions. But this year I received surprising news from New York. My son rang to tell me he had been given a gift, a book titled, Stencil Graffiti Capital: Melbourne. It was bought from an art gallery two blocks from his loft in Brooklyn and it contained photos of my poster and the creator. I bought the book, which documented the work of several stencil graffiti artists in Melbourne, giving me the clues I needed to find the person who'd plastered me all over town.

His tag name is Rone and after exchanging emails I finally met him last April at a graffiti art exhibition in Richmond, where he welcomed me. He is a talented graphic artist and his interest in fashion photography inspired him to create a series of large-scale women's faces; my image was the first in the series. I discovered that Rone surrenders his art to the weather and is fascinated by the ageing process.

He found my photo in a fashion magazine from 2003, which referred to '70s fashion. He was originally attracted to my expression in the photo, which he described as "sad or maybe angry; it's somewhere in between". When I first saw the poster I was drifting between those two emotions; these feelings were to linger for some time after.

The seasons brushed over my image and whenever I passed through that tunnel I noticed the poster slowly deteriorate and when only a one small piece remained, defying the elements, a year had passed and my marriage was over.

I picked the colour combinations myself, put my initials on the heel and after two months of waiting, it arrived safely this afternoon.

The model is Air Max 90, first released in 1990 and it's one of my favourite because of the slimmness and the hectic designs with shitloads of different materials.

At the start of every schoolyear, my school used to send letters to parents about the uniform regulations. The skirt length, shoes colour, tucking shirts in, bra colour (seriously), etc.

It was 2 years ago. Me and another two friends of mine was bored and decided to make a fake letters to distribute, so I scanned the original letters and changed the regulations while still keeping the official style of writing, so instead of black shoes, students can wear shoes in any colours, girls should wear high heels cos it's sexy, shocking pink bras, The Strokes tee, and many more.

It looked EXACTLY the same as the original, the letterhead, fonts, everything, but when you actually read it, well, it's a liiiitle bit different to say the least.

I remember it was Friday, we sneak out during class, and fucking stapled those fake letters to every information board and left them in some classrooms.

By the time the school finishes, the letters were gone.

We were pretty scared something bad is going to happen but we figured that there is no way anyone can find out who did this and few days went by without any sign of us getting in trouble.

It turns out that the school's principal were away for the last few days, and when he's back, we're in deep shit. He gathered the WHOLE secondary school (from year 10-12) in a room, hold up one of the fake letter we distributed and asked who did it, and if no one confess before the day's over, everyone will be punished (I forgot what the punishment is).

So we confess. It wasn't too bad, the principal actually thought it was funny, but it may send a bad message to parents or some bullshit.

But the thing I remember the most is actually the part where we were in the office's waiting room.

A teacher passed by, and said, "Oh, so you're the delinquents."

Awesome.

I don't even knew what the word actually meant, but it sounds awesome. Even better when I actually found out the meaning.

So life goes on, I'm in Melbourne now, one guy is going on a military training in Singapore (bring me the gore-tex jacket) and the other still figuring out where to go, either Germany, US, or to this shithole called Perth.

But good times in high school won't be forgotten. No matter where we are, we're still just a bunch of fucking delinquents from Jakarta.

I remember when my cousin showed me their videos in 6th grade, I think, I was blown away by their ability to smoke non-stop while playing a 5-minute songs, and it turns out in the interview that there's actually a myth where they 'bend' their cigarettes so the smoke doesn't get into their eyes.

Of course, Slash was my favourite of the bunch but when I found out Duff's pancreas exploded from alcohol and he was one of the last person to meet Kurt Cobain, he definitely takes the spot.

For the past three days, the ONLY thing I listened to on my iPod is this Rod Stewart's song, Young Turks. This has never happened to me. When I like a particular song, I'll listen to it a few times, get bored, and I forget about it. But this time it's different. The last time something similar to this happened was when I found Sondre Lerche's album buried somewhere in my friend's room and since it was a school holiday, I thought, what the hell, I'll give it a go. And I was hooked and listen to it for literally the rest of the school year.

But that was a year ago. And I listened to the whole album, twelve songs, not one.

So here's the story. I was watching Enjoi's skateboarding movie, Bag of Suck, and when Louie Barletta's part comes up, I thought, "Hey, nice song." then as he continues shredding the hell out of those rails, I can't help but wondering what song this is, so a quick Google search, and Rod Stewart's Young Turks is the answer. And as I said before, I'm addicted to it. I screamed the chorus at 1AM last Thursday night. I FUCKING LEARNED PIANO CHORDS SO THAT I CAN PLAY THE SONG WITH MY LAPTOP. You want proof?

That stuff on the right side of the chord name is the keyboard layout on my laptop. So, if I press 'ADG' it'll play the C chord.

It's THAT serious. All this time I though playing synth keyboard was gay and here I am RECORDING the shit so I can make my little own version of Young Turks to sing along because the original version of the song is too high for my voice. I did the drums, too but that was easy, I just record 2 bars and loop the shit out of it.

Seriously though, I can't stress this enough. Please, PLEASE listen to the song, at least 2 times, read the lyrics and if you don't like it, you might as well stop visiting my blog because this is the soundtrack of my life. There I said it. Sounds so homo but it's true. No, not the part with me being a homo, but the part where Young Turks is the best song ever period. I took the courtesy of embedding the video for you.
